Dextro-AS is a combination of three drugs: Diphenhydramine, Ammonium chloride, and Sodium citrate. Ammonium chloride helps remove mucus from the airways by decreasing its stickiness. Sodium citrate helps reduce congestion, making it easier to cough out through the mouth.
